Hopi Travel Plaza

After visiting the Petrified Forest National Park, we were looking for somewhere close to spend the night. Thankfully, just down the road a bit was the Hopi Travel Plaza.

Open 24 hours a day, this truck stop includes a Burger King, a restaurant and a gift shop/convenience store. BK is great for a quick bite to eat and the gift shop has coffee available for purchase in the morning. The restaurant, however, smelled a bit funny, so we never actually ventured into it (besides, there were a group of men who seemed to guarding the entrance, which put off a bit of an odd vibe to us).

Hopi Travel Plaza also provides paid showers, so it seems like a decent overnight stop. It is noisy, however (as truck stops tend to be), since the semis around us kept running their engines all night long. Still, it was a free overnight stay, so it’s hard to beat that, right?
