On this car trip, we swung by the famous Pier 39 in San Francisco, California…and our dog Stella was intrigued by what we found.
For the next stop on this car trip, we ventured to San Francisco, California. Originally planning on taking a ferry (so as to avoid the traffic), our GPS had other ideas. Before we knew it, we were cruising the streets of San Francisco. Eventually, we ended up at the ferry crossing – on the wrong side of what we intended.
Since we were in town, we parked, and headed down the piers towards the most famous one of all: Pier 39. While we definitely are going to hit this spot again (we didn’t have time to venture to Alcatraz or even get a good pic of the Golden Gate Bridge), we did manage to have a fun time at Pier 39. While the views are impressive and there a huge amount of stores, we discovered something else.
To be more precise, Stella discovered the big attraction of Pier 39: sea lions. While we were looking at Alcatraz across the bay and straining for a better glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Stella was perking her ears at the barking. Following her, we discovered a huge amount of sea lions, right off the side of the pier. Apparently, they like to show up an sunbathe during the day. Stella (who couldn’t see them due to the railing) could hear their barking. Still, while she remained a bit mystified by the noise, she enjoyed the sunny day in San Fran.
Check out the quick video below, and enjoy the sea lions like we did!
