On a rather dreary day in November of 2016, we spent some time exploring a big touristy place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Broadway at the Beach.
Rather devoid of tourists on the day we went (both due to the weather and the off-season), it was as if we had the place to ourselves. With a trip to Ripley’s Aquarium Myrtle Beach already on the agenda, we didn’t have as much time as we would have liked to explore. But still, it was nice to wander around through a crowd-free shopping area / games attraction that usually would have been overwhelmed with people.
Of course, with our limited time, that meant we couldn’t do more than take pictures of some of the places we would have liked to spend more time in. Wonderworks Myrtle Beach is a good example of that. While the place itself is a great photo op (see the upside-down building below), it would have been nice to pay the entrance fee and explore what the place had to offer.
Wonderworks Myrtle Beach wasn’t the only site at Broadway at the Beach worth exploring more, however. The zipline looked like a whole lot of of fun. Plus, the castle that hides the Dragon’s Lair Miniature Golf Course hid the fun that spot probably would have brought us. Even famous candymaker Sugar wasn’t explored to our taste buds’ desire.
Still, even though our visit to Broadway at the Beach was limited, we definitely enjoyed ourselves, and got to tour the place without the normal rush of the crowd. And, we definitely got some ideas as to where to go the next time our travels take us to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!
